The opportunities available to you at Nexus are endless! Just some of the many areas where jobs are available include:
Operations-This department is the hub of our centres, as operations staff ensure our centres run smoothly from day to day! Their responsibilities are varied and range from welcoming customers, selling memberships and administering first aid, to life-guarding and setting up sports equipment. Also involved, with the help of colleagues from all other areas, is ensuring centres are presented to a high standard of cleanliness – nobody wants to go to a dirty sports centre!
Health and Fitness-Those working in this department are responsible for running all the gyms operated by Nexus. Our fitness instructors and senior fitness instructors have to provide inductions, fitness evaluations and advice on health and exercise. They also need excellent customer care, motivation and selling skills to perform well.
Children’s Activities-The staff who work in this area have the exciting challenge of providing fun, entertaining and safe experiences for children. This could be within our children’s play areas, or during parties and holiday playschemes, anyway it’s a fun time working in children’s activities!
Front of House-This area is made up of the staff who work on our lively receptions! A friendly nature and calm manner are essential as you will be welcoming customers, booking them on to classes and courses, advising on centre activities and selling memberships, whilst dealing with any queries that may come your way.
Community-From health promotions to community development, this is a rapidly growing area of Nexus! The people involved with the community team are essential for engaging all members of the community and helping them to pursue active lifestyles.
Support Services-There are a wide variety of support services that are essential to ensure that the centres run effectively. These include finance, marketing, HR, sales, memberships and IT support.
